- FAAOMPT – A Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists is a physical therapist who has completed advanced, post-graduate training and demonstrated superior clinical skills in evaluating and treating neuromusculoskeletal conditions through manual therapy and evidence-based practice. This credential signifies extensive, intensive training and hands-on expertise in orthopaedic manual physical therapy (OMPT), resulting in a high level of competency recognized both nationally and internationally.
- Cert. DN – A formal Certification in Dry Needling, indicating they have completed specialized, hands-on training in this technique to treat musculoskeletal conditions. This certification enables physical therapists to use sterile, thin needles to address pain, inflammation, and restricted range of motion by targeting myofascial trigger points and nerve hyperactivity.
- Cert. VCS – Certified Vestibular Concussion Specialist indicating advanced, evidence-based training in diagnosing and treating patients with dizziness, balance disorders, and the complex symptoms of concussions and vestibular dysfunction. These therapists have demonstrated mastery of techniques for differential diagnosis, canalith repositioning (for BPPV), and vestibular rehabilitation, making them experts in helping people recover from these injuries.
- Cert. Pelvic Health – A physical therapist who has obtained specialized certification and training in treating disorders of the abdominopelvic region, including pelvic floor muscles, for patients of all ages and genders.
- Diploma in Osteopractic – Specialization for PTs focusing on advanced manual (hands-on) therapy techniques to treat musculoskeletal conditions, improving patients’ function and outcomes. The training signifies advanced clinical reasoning, expertise in diagnosing and treating orthopedic issues, and a strong ability to apply evidence-based manual interventions.
- Pilates Instructor – Trained with Stott Pilates to teach mat work, reformer, Cadillac, chair, and barrels.
- Personal Trainer – NPTI and NASM. With strength and conditioning, corrective exercise, etc.
Background
Emma graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of London in 1993 and earned her Master’s with a biomechanical and neuro-orthopedic focus soon after. She has orthopedic residency and fellowship equivalent training from the UK along with a Diploma in orthopedic rehabilitation and technology. She is a certified personal trainer through National Personal Training Institute and National Association of Sports Medicine along with being a Stott trained Pilates Instructor. Her professional journey spans three continents, providing a rich experience in varied healthcare systems and a deep understanding of different cultural backgrounds.
Emma has recently completed her orthopedic fellowship and diploma in osteopractic, enhancing her skills in diagnostics, manipulative therapy, and dry needling. These skills have proved invaluable for managing complicated pathologies including but not limited to, chronic headaches, tempro-mandibular dysfunction, concussion, vestibular and balance along with pelvic floor health for men and women and hypermobility syndrome.
Her passion is in the holistic approach to therapy which begins with a full biomechanical evaluation of each client and she aims to integrate manual & exercise therapy techniques along with dry needling, cupping and soft tissue release to enable strong postural control with quality movement and client education. Her aim is to empower every individual to reach their goals and aspirations whether they are for daily living, working, or sports related activities. Emma has a special interest in horseback riding, tennis, running, along with those who have not had much success with physical therapy and other treatments previously.
